Why do Christians have to do that? Their prayers are just as effective at church or in a cell group setting. It's an "in your face" type deal just like picketing an abortion clinic.
I have never agreed with these methods and would never participate in such. They were asking for trouble with this group of people. As you have seen and already knew - they can become quite violent.
Hopefully, someday, we will learn there is power in prayer and we don't have to use "demonstration" to prove that God is on the throne.

Why do they have to do that? As if the only places Christians gather to pray in public is in "gay districts"? So we are going to be bullied by the gays and the left into assembling for prayer and outreach in only NON gay areas???? Does anyone NOT see a problem with that?
We should learn there is power in prayer and not use demonstration? Oh if only Paul had thought of that, he never would have been stoned, he never would have been jailed, he never would have spent a night in the deep. What major screwups the Apostles were for not cowing in their little dark caves and just praying rather than going out in public to be a witness.
I only wish I had a quarter of the boldness those guys had...reminder: According to them they were not preaching against being gay.
Let's call good evil and evil good. Might as well if we are going to fault these guys for doing what they did and essentially saying "Good! they deserved that"
