True spirituality isn't measured in striving but rather in being.
Some aren't there yet, so they are striving. Paul likened it to a race.

He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? Micah 6:8 KJV
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 1 John 3:2 KJV
Ahh, and of course I can "be" without "striving to be" ?

In fact I think that the insinuation of "hateful" Pentecostals is coming mostly from the fertile imaginations of bitter, backslidden ex Apostolics who are constantly trying to find a way to justify their actions. ~ strait shooter

Sigh. I try to make a joke and you guys get all serious on me. Sigh.
OK, yeah, it would be tragic if I don't "win the race" (i.e., go to Heaven when I die), though my joke was, of course, in terms of a traditional one-winner race. But, anyway, thanks for you concern!

Hebrews 13:23 Know ye that our brother Timothy is set at liberty
I was there in October 2008 for a service. I was invited to attend. The baptistmal tank is about 25 feet in the air. Rod Parsley's right hand man took the mic and said service was going to start later than usual because there were more people than expected getting baptized. The preacher did the honors of saying the words over baptism. There was no doubt about in anyone's mind the preacher said in the name of Jesus before the person went under. Kind of hard to know how one wants to be baptized if they are 25-30 feet away from the dunking. I can only testify to what I've seen and what I've heard.

I was curious as to how RP baptized, so I called the church. I spoke with one of his associate ministers, and asked how they baptized.
His comment to me was, "We understand that there are a couple of different camps out there, so we will baptize a person the way they want to be baptized - either in the titles, or Jesus' name".
That's not hearsay, that is from a direct conversation I had with one of his staff.

Read my response. No way the preacher 25 feet below could know how the person wanted to be baptized. The preacher invoked the name of Jesus in baptism just like any good ''apostolic'' would.
