I voted start looking for a new church...He would have no Bible right to make a law like that...he might tell the evils of red meat and suggest not eating it but to make it a law is not my type pastor....sorry...next thing he might serve might be Kool-Aid....

Then you are toast.
In that case, I would probably obey, because I always did what the preacher told me to do, until I went nearly insane with rules and seeing the inconsistency and hypocrisy around me, left after I understood (and ONLY after I understood) that what they were telling me was not true.

Then I'd look for any church with a pastor that would stay out of my personal business. If their doctrine was a bit different, so be it -- I would still hold on to my beliefs regardless.

If a pastor/church leader asks all his constituents to give up red meat because he is convinced it's unhealthy what would you do?
I would say no, I love a good Black Angus Beef Burger.

I think I personally, would probably have to stay put, keep eating red meat at my house if my wife was hopefully in agreeance, and overlook the non red meat doctorinal nonsense. I probably would not invite anybody over for a t bone, because then I could be accused of sewing discord/disunity. But if no other church around believed and taught acts 2:38 as the follow up answer to the preaching of the cross (what must we do?), then I'd have to stay put, because to me, that is a minimum priority that I would want my children to know should be in a church of personal choice. Of course as has been posted, whats next after no red meat?

To ask or mandate?
To me is a big difference.
To mandate, would be to much. To request is ok with the explanation if is heathier for you. NOT a doctrine.
And then I would continue to eat red meat.

Sometimes pastors ask, say it's not salvational and then say people who don't comply are in rebellion. That makes people between a rock and a hard spot.
