ILG, how would this discussion topic be handled if we did a "my child" comparability test?
If we would counsel our children to avoid a circumstance or behavior, then it seems likely we would NOT 'AMEN' that same lifestyle choice made by our adult brothers and sisters in Christ.
Providing space for the tempter to exploit our natural appetites is foolish.
Adults with even a minimum of life experience understand the difference between fastiing while walking in a park verse fasting while walking through a bakery.
Warning: hugely obvious statement to follow:
Persons who are not married should avoid circumstances that would cause their appetite for intimacy to be increased.
Unmarried persons who purpose to hug or press their bodies together on a couch, would be opening up an occassion where sin and condemnation could enter in.
Being an unmarried "couch lover" is walking a dangerous tighrope...but maybe it's the excitement that some of folks are really after?
