The last few years have been hard for us to buy brand new church clothes all the time, it's easy when you are an adult you can wear what you already have. (To be completely honest though, Keith's mom bought the boys suits this year)
But for kids, it can be a bit expensive when they are constantly growing, to keep them in nice new church duds.
Anyway the statement above reminds me of something my mom used to say about clothes, she would say it doesn't need to be new and expensive but clean and pressed.
So at least if I can not afford the new, I try to make sure their clothes are clean and their shirts are pressed. (teeth brushed combed hair!)
Nothing wrong with that!

Liz,
This is very awesome. When our son was around 6 years old my husband had been laid off from his job. I said, "God, I need some black, khaki and navy pants for our son."
The very next Sunday morning, a lady in church handed me a pair of black, khaki and navy pants in the exact size for our son! She said, "I had these and thought you might want them."
I also remember a time when I told the Lord that I needed a new wardrobe of clothing. Shortly, a friend of mine. who had a wealthy MIL, brought a huge box of new clothes to me. She said, "I thought you might like these."
So, if I don't have the money - I do have a prayer!
