The same thing with modesty. Don't harp continuously on modesty, where it applies to your pet issues (pants, sleeves), but not include the full meaning of the word - to draw unnecessary attention to yourself.
It's the double standard that gets me.

I agree it is NOT Consistent. We preach against sequins and sparkles on clothing it is as much a sin as makeup.
