Praise the Lord Bro. Atkinson!

I agree, Devils and Demons are fallen spirits. However “Unclean Spirits” in my experience aren’t fallen angels. Fallen angels are extremely intelligent and diabolical. Fallen angels typically thwart God’s plans; spawn heresies and false religions, and influence regions or entire nations. They, like Satan, are wiser than Daniel. But Unclean Spirits are often very stupid. For example, when casting out a Fallen Angel they will play mind games and challenge your faith. Unclean Spirits are often a circus. You might be casting an unclean spirit out of a person and demand to know if it is still residing. At that point the unclean spirit will speak through the person and say something like, “We’re no longer here!” Of course that means they are still present. Fallen Angels always appear to have a diabolical agenda afoot. Unclean Spirits are only out for personal satisfaction and riotous behavior through human beings. Many Unclean Spirits can’t read, or even speak proper English. It’s almost like dealing with a mentally impaired spiritual being. While Fallen Angels are diabolical and methodological Unclean Spirits often act insane and irrational when provoked. So I see a difference based on my experience with them.

After encountering unclean spirits I began to seek out why they are limited in knowledge, irrational, often stupid, and erratic while devils aren’t. I found something in Genesis 6 that I personally have come to believe. Genesis 6 describes a period of time prior to the flood in which “sons of God” (bene-ha-elohim, or “divine beings”) choose wives from the daughters of men. In the book of Job and in the Psalms angels are referred to as “the sons of God”. Please note, this is from the Hebrew. Many Christians equate it with the phrase “sons of God” from the New Testament indicating the righteous…but the Greek phrase used isn’t the equivalent of that used in the Hebrew and therefore they are not the same. These “sons of God” (angels) took the daughters of men to wife. Most likely these seemed peaceful and benevolent at the time, but soon their children (who were the Nephilim, or “giants”) began to fill the earth with violence. These half human/half demon spawn were violent, irrational, and no doubt lacking intellect. The violence and wickedness that filled the earth was of such a high degree to warrant God sending the flood to destroy every living thing. At this point the fallen angels that left their first estate and cohabitated with the daughters of men were bound by chains of darkness and will remain there until the return of Christ. However their offspring, the Nephilim, were drowned in the flood. There spirits were left to roam the earthly plane. This is because it is appointed unto man once to die and then the judgment. However, these beings weren’t exactly human. Also, they aren’t entirely angel, so they were not bound. Being human/demon spawn their spirits were left to roam. Now, remember, these had bodies but since their death they are bodiless. They have an insatiable hunger for sin, violence, and vice. The only way they can live out their desires and satisfy this thirst is to possess a human host. When an unclean spirit finds a man sinning or doing what that spirit desires that spirit will attempt to take up residency in that man to experience said sin. From there the spirit will attempt to drive the man deeper and deeper into sin and vice to satisfy its hunger. Meanwhile… it’s destroying its human host. When the host dies or the unclean spirit is cast out, it will roam the “dry places” seeking to quench its thirst again. If cast out and it returns to a man and finds a way back in, it will bring seven more unclean spirits worse than itself in to increase the chances of it not being cast out again.

There are two ways to deal with an unclean spirit. You can consecrate yourself, fast, pray, and pursue the things of God. In time this will weaken and frustrate the unclean spirit, and then you can pray through and be completely delivered. Or a saint of God can fast and pray and cast it out through the authority given by Christ Jesus. Fasting empties one’s self of self will and denies the flesh allowing one to “power up” in the Holy Ghost (for lack of a better term). When a saint or elder has been properly fasting and praying they are like a sponge that has absorbed the anointing and power of the Holy Ghost, making them a formidable weapon against evil spirits.

As for “ghosts”, I believe that it’s appointed unto men once to die and then the judgment. The judgment hasn’t occurred yet. So what happens in the interim is entirely God’s prerogative and operates in the economy of the spirit realm. I believe it’s possible for some souls to linger on earth and not pass on, especially if they are not saved and if they have deep emotional connections or personal reasons for lingering. I believe that prayer and consecration of a “haunted” location can aid them in accepting death and moving on to their place of rest until the judgment.

I’d vote that vampires are merely popular folk legends.
