Of course they can. An ugly spirit is an ugly spirit regardless of which end of the spectrum it may be on.
But from just a cursory reading the past couple of days, the conservative voices seem to be very few, and the prevailing mindset appears to come from the ditch on the opposite side of the road.
Is it fair to say that conservative views are very much in the minority here?
