What are they angry about if you believe the same doctrines as they do?

Really?
John Lennon was a perverted hedonistic self serving, God hating purveyor of sin in all its many forms.
And this song, above all others was his anthem.
And this is your answer?
WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU????

I totally agree with you, it does not however take away from his personal experiences and what he wrote about. Religion as a whole has been it's own worst enemy.

Exactly! My pastors entire sermon on Sunday was on that very thought, every person that you encounter throughout your day; every person that cuts you off in traffic, every cranky clerk in the check-out line, every scary thug hanging out in front of the mall... every one of them is someone that Jesus thought dying for was worth it.
It's an almost impossible concept for us to grasp, we get so excited about the people who come to a church service wanting to hear about God, or who are willing to be ministered to in some way. But we have a much harder time giving grace and compassion to those who hate us or revile God. But He thought enough of them to die for them. What chance do we have of ever reaching them if we "hate" them back?

Well said. Bill Hybels often says, "You've never looked into the eyes of a person that God doesn't care about." And another quote from him, "People matter to God, therefore, they should matter to us."

The thought that gets to me the most is an eternal hell. Let the angels who left their first estate go there. They knew what they were doing but most people are ignorant and deceived. God has compassion on them, shouldn't we?
