Religion is like gadgets
I am a bit of a tech geek, so I frequent a lot of tech/gadget sites and forums. With the release of the iPad, there have been numerous discussions on these sites, one side saying it is awesome, the other side saying there is something better and the iPad doesn't work for them. While the iPad works for some, others only see it's limitations and prefer other devices. People just naturally like some things better over the other. These type of discussions always pop up when a new gadget is introduced with a lot of hype.
It reminds me of religion. We tend to think our personal method is the best because it works for us, and we tend to think it will work best for others. The other side of the fence believe the same thing. In reality, there is probably not much difference between most religions, they are just tailer-made to fit a certain type of person or group. What works for some does not work for others. Some need more structure, some need less boundaries. Some need a literal approach, some need a metaphorical approach. As long as God is at the forefront of any approach, there is a good chance both parties will end up at the same place.
