Re: Women's strange choice about her body.....
Pregnancy and child birth do quite a lot to a woman's body. I've been told that during labor a woman has never been closer to death. I think this might be scary for some women. Not to mention the hormonal ups and downs, gained weight, soreness, sickness, and possible complications that could threaten life and health. While the vast majority navigate these waters without any long lasting harm, a few women do have terrible pregnancies and complicated labors that leave them in serious condition. For some women the possiblity of going through something like that might be terrifying, even if it's only a 2% chance.
I don't know. I don't want to criticize her too much without knowing the specifics of exactly what she's thinking.

True.
If men had to go through pregnancy, labor, and delivery they would have figured out another system by now.

I think she's all about how she looks - - what she doesn't realize is that someone like her (that fit) would spring right back after having a baby. She's just scared of losing her tone, perfect body......

It's definitely a woman's choice, whether she has children or not. How could it be anyone else's choice?

According to 1 timothy 2:15 a woman can't be saved unless she bears children and if it's in the Bible then you cabn't get around it. It's a salvation issue. God commanded couples to have children in Genesis.

I can't relate to her viewpoint at all.

I hope you're being TIC, because obviously there are some women who CAN'T have children, and a woman's salvation is NOT based on enduring childbirth.
The context of the word "saved" in that verse means that she will be protected/delivered.
to save, that is, deliver or protect (literally or figuratively): - heal, preserve, save (self), do well, be (make) whole

Right--even though she mentioned "rescuing" a child--it still sounded all about her. She does come off as selfish.
Of course, having a child to take care of can remove some of that self-centeredness.

I remember having a panicky moment with every birth when it hit me that there was no way to avoid the pain!!!! Like maybe I wanted to turn and run, but couldn't. LOL!!!!
I have a good friend who nearly died in childbirth. When she mentions having another child, it scares ME to death.

LOL.....I had one of those moments too! Close to my due date it occured to me WHAT really was about to happen. It's not like I didn't know it - but, it hit me like a ton of bricks and there is NO turning back.

I know this is a bit materialistic, but I'm not sure of her spiritual materity. What if she's not only affraid of pregnancy's effects on her health... but is also affraid of it's effects on her body. I mean, if her body is essential as a source of her lively hood and necessary for her career, the decision to have a baby or adopt does become complicated from her perspective.
With so many unwanted children needing to be adopted... I'm not sure if her adopting is such a bad thing. God may already have a child in mind for her.
