Since I don't know exactly what is causing their attitudes (because you won't post the reasoning).
From the outside i'm assuming whatever church you visited obviously doesn't preach the message as strong as the one your leaving.
So in their minds if your going to accept something that is taught as being "wrong" in your current church, you are backslidden & compromising. Henceforth they are probably following the line of thinking that stems from
2Tim 3:5 "Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away"
Thats the only explanation I have if they are being "mean".
But I concur with Ferd, if you have been there for years and heard what they teach & preach... I have a hard time believing your "shocked" at their reaction and playing the victim.
side note, Bro Apostle Paul would probably laugh his head off if he read your original post. Talk to him about being mistreated.... He would make all of us become humble very fast!
