What's wrong with taking issue by issue? And on the eating issue, please pass the ranch. I need some to dip my STEAK in it!!!!
I would never vote for a politician who supports abortion. But, I struggle horribly with capital punishment. I can't STAND the NRA and I think they're dangerous. I support Affirmative Action. I support a lot of animal rights. One of my favorite shows on TV is "Whale Wars." But I think the whole militant vegetarian thing is insane. I think it's completely idiotic to try to get SUV's off the road and don't you dare mess with mine! Reduce my taxes!!! I'm a civil rights psycho.
I think Reagan was the greatest president ever and I think we should respect and pray for Obama, Pelosi, and Reid.
So am I a liberal or a conservative?

NOW, we have a lot in common. I love to hunt (and either I or someone who needs it more eats whatever meat is taken), but would seriously love to volunteer for Whale Wars - the whole whale thing makes me angry. I collect guns - but think the NRA goes way overboard and they make me uncomfortable with far too many of their things. Hate abortion and the death penalty makes me uncomfortable in so many cases. And on and on it goes.
The healthiest diet I've had in my life was the three years I lived in Africa. We ate a hearty breakfast with fresh squeezed juice from the trees in our garden, we ate a huge lunch, we had a tea break with food, and we had multiple course dinners with a "pudding" (dessert, but not always pudding) to follow. But, the only red meat we ate was wild game, which is lean. Our meat, which was at every meal, was most often chicken or seafood. Every veggie we ate was fresh (whatever we pulled from the garden or found at the local market) and did not come from a can. We ate homemade bread every day. We used cream and we used butter and we used sugar and we used wine. I came home 30 lbs lighter and my husband was almost 60 lbs. lighter. We felt great on that diet. Until the malaria and tick bite almost killed me, that was the healthiest I had ever been.
I'm convinced that it is the overly processed, overly preserved foods that we eat in America that is the killer. There is a lot to be said for fresh and for moderation.
