Daniel Segraves worked hard for years to achieve the education he has.
Ramond Crownover has as well.
The problem I see here is a man who is held up as the theologian who speaks for the entire Oneness world and he took a short cut in an area that he really should have taken extra time.
Well I'll say this. I think DS should be looked up to more than DKB.
I don't think it takes a degree in theology to be president of a school of theology either although I think a degree in education would serve better than a degree in math or jurisprudence

There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
Every sinner must repent of their sins.
That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.
.Apparently some of you are going to reach your own conclusions about the man's character and education without his side of the story.
I am not raising questions about his character. I consider him to be a man of integrity.
I do think his choice of University sends a mixed message to those who may consider attending UGST, the school where he is president - that is all I am saying.
No assumptions at all about character, many many questions about the education part.
But you are bringing DB's character into question. You want to know the reason why DB went to a certain school that is less rigorous than others and you are being less than gracious concerning his motives.
We reap what we sow and with what measure we mete it will be measured back to us. Whether we're discussing DB or Obama, we should do unto others....

Yes, I would like to know the reasons why he would take the route he did. It certainly is quicker, easier, and cheaper. I have no idea what his motives where. I think in conjunction with the last three it also didn't require a reevaluation of what he has taught for 30 + years. Now which one was the motive I don't know. But it is fair and not at all ungracious to point out that the "theologian" of the Oneness movement really didn't take the time to earn the education one would expect from someone in his position. He has the brains, he has the finances, so...why?

Some people are afraid of education. Some explicitly put it down, even condemn it. I was on the pulpit committee of my last AG church, and one of the candidates had a Master's degree. Couple of the others didn't want to consider him, just for that reason!
Now, DKB is obviously not afraid of education, in general. But maybe there is some nervousness about getting a higher degree in theology from a major university, and especially one that requires a lot of class time. Most of them are both Trinny and fairly liberal, aren't they? Might not be a good match for a Oneness Pentecostal.
Just sayin'.

We also don't really know what education he got. He has an MA from that school, which in the information may have required a study program. We know that school does offer classes and we don't know if DKB took some. Further we know he says he studied at a seminary here, but we don't know how involved that was,
In short we don't know what his education is. To most of us here "earn an education" means sitting in a class room gaining the knowledge you can otherwise gain by reading books and or taking online classes

There clearly is a way to get a masters from there by writing a thesis only.
You are right we don't know...
I wouldn't compare reading a book the same as taking classes on the graduate level. you might be able to gain some information but it is not the same as interacting with teachers and peers like you do in a class setting online or in person.
