Re: For those that left the UPC...
The attitude in which people leave is most important. "God" is a word today that we throw around to solidify what we believe, why we believe it and why it's important for others to know that we believe it. The United Pentecostal Church is a man made organization. Though man made, God works within it. Man always dedicates a work, an organization to the glory of God. God hardly is asked permission to start anything, we just go ahead and do it. And there is really nothing wrong with that. It's the way things are and God works with man within these limitations that man has built up around himself. The reason why denominations are in error is because they have this one idea and that is that they believe they are right and everyone else is wrong. Their thinking is that it's not possible to be a true believer if you believe in the Trinity or vice versa. That is just one big example.
Another denominational error is that all these organization all start out well in getting you in the door. They all preach grace at the start, once you are in then they move you away from grace and administer law. They never admit they are doing this, but to make you one of them, you have to participate in their indoctrination. When the condemnation comes when you can't live up to the standards to which they have set before you, all manner of sin is at the door. It all looks innocent. You see the older women and men and then you want to look like them. But you have no idea that "them" are miserable, blind, naked, empty of any joy. In Church is all smiles, out of Church they are a different person altogether. In Church they speak in tongues more than ye all, they can shout the rafters down. But they too without you knowing anything, are miserable, joyless. They are a product of what that denomination has taught them.
Very few have found a balance. These few had to leave that denomination and start one of their own as an independent. They are protesting against the original denomination that they came out of. Again, they start out well hoping not to be like the Mother, but they too will slip into the same thing because leaders develop a paranoia in wanting to keep their flock altogether. Thus a law or standards are created to sustain the flock from moving out of their midst. They attack other denominations to make their flock feel special that they are in the "right" church. While they suffer within bound, others outside in other denominations are being set free, the power of God in full demonstration.
God put a tree in the garden which was an unlawful tree to eat thereof. God knew that Adam who was created in His image would eat of the tree. Today we tell others NOT to do this that or the other and it's the tree all over again. Ministers today do a great injustice to the cross of Christ by putting these heavy weights on people that are unable to bear. They must come to their own conclusions by the direction of the Holy Ghost to put down what is unprofitable for their lives. Yes, the warnings must go forth that the wages of sin is death. But we are not the Holy Spirit and He alone knows how to get the attention of His children..........believe me He knows.
