These stats are truly horrifying. I am truly concerned for us as a nation. We are seeing unprecedented pornography use.

I think all men have it whether it is covert or overt. I also believe I will never understand it. When I was younger I used to be offended by it but now I realize it is the make-up of a man. I think it is hard for women not to be offended by it. However, I think age and wisdom helps us see things a bit differently in that we begin to accept that others are different and have different battles....it's not necessarily better or worse battles (unless someone chooses to sin) but it is just different.
OMGoodness, I can't even imagine living under cover as a man.

I also don't consider it sinful or a 'battle". Just a guy appreciating stuff he is hardwired to appreciate. The ones who DO consider it a battle are the ones who are constantly white knuckled trying to think of baseball (unless that of course is a sin as well) as they walk down the grocery isle doing whatever it takes to not have ANY improper thoughts and feeling condemnation at every one that slips by.
Here is the point I was trying to make yesterday. When my husband and I were in the church and I saw him looking like you mention, I was very offended because of the scripture (or the erroneous preaching of it) that says "He that looks on a woman to lust after her has committed adultery in his heart". When religion makes women think that men having eyeballs and feelings and appreciation is wrong, this is fodder for marital battles that should not exist. Men fight against natural impulses with great condemnation and women feel righteous indignation and superiority and disgust. How much better if we take the view your wife does.....this is normal....but we expect faithfulness. I think we need to be very careful that we are not condemning normal, healthy life and bringing false guilt and false marital problems. On the flipside, men need to respect their wives feelings and know that drooling is not acceptable and porn is not acceptable.

Re: Sex Scenes

Something my 13 year old son said to me really bothered me. I told him to be careful what he says about girls because not so cute girls can become beautiful women and he said, "Mom that only happens on tv." I couldn't even respond at the moment. I had to digest what he had said and then later on I talked to him about it.

We have Net Nanny on the computer and we have blocks on the tv so he can't see anything inappropriate. So I was thinking how can he get this thinking so young. I don't know. I explained the air brushing, make-up, lights, etc to him.

I feel sorry for our boys because they have no choice but to be brought up in a sex saturated environment with all the billboards, commercials, etc.

Yes, I am bad. Sometimes I just want to see something really violent. LOL! The Last Samurai is very good for that. It is rated R for violence, but there is no nudity or sensuality in it and not that much language.

Well, I would take my husband along so we could talk to him about his stupid liberal agenda. LOL! He doesn't even know what he is talking about. He needs to just act and stay out of the political arena. LOL!

Russell Crowe for me. Rugged, manly and his voice is divine! LOL! Don't tell my husband I said that! I never make comments like that in front of him. LOL!

I have a friend whose husband had been into porn most of his life. His father was in the military and left Playboy around the house. That is so sad.

He would even sit and look at JC Penny magazines she left lying around (Yes, I read your earlier post about that).

Short story, they ended up seeing a counselor who made him take a lie detector test. He was willing to do that in order to save his marriage. I thought that was great, because he really wanted help.

Anyway, the counselor gave him his first assignment - On the way to and from work, every day, he had to write down anything he saw that stimulated him. That included billboards. The Counselor wanted him to be aware of what society is handing our men so that he could join in the fight to put a stop to it.

Don't know how they are doing now as we've lost touch. But I did like the Counselor's approach.

Had to look him up because I'd never heard of him, but on first glance....nah. LOL!
