You brought up the argument, so how about if
you define "often"?
Yes, Aaron and others saw the miracles and the glory. But were there any witnesses as to what God spoke to Moses? How about all the other cases of God speaking to people?

I can agree that God would not contradict Himself, and angels (the ones on God's side, at least) would not contradict God, either. But what if a message doesn't contradict the Bible? We could then not rule out the message being genuine, but we cannot conclude for sure that it is genuine."
Is that correct or not? Suppose we don't have any of the other show-stoppers, such as too-frequent (in your estimation) messages or symptoms of schizophrenia, and we have some kind of confirmation. Would you then claim that we definitely have a case of God literally speaking?
