reminds me of a couple things:
The story in Jeremiah chapter 36 where the king take a pen knife to the Word of God and begins to cut out part of it until it is completely destroyed
Those who would remove parts of the scriptures they do not agree with like
Matthew 28:19 or
1 John 5:7 or places which speak of miracles or of judgment
