I think you're missing the point. You want hyperbole when you need hyperbole and you want hate when you need hate.
No. It's a hyperbole because not only does it ask for an extreme action it contradicts scripture
Mat 5:43 "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' Mat 5:44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
Mat 24:10 And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another.
Tit 3:3 For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another.
1Jn 2:9 Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness.
Luk 10:27 And he answered, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself."
What He is saying, by way of a hyperbole, is your love for God must be much much more than even your love for parents...it must pale in comparison just as hate compared to love
Mat 10:37 Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
Mat 22:37 And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
Every sinner must repent of their sins.
That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.
He creates us knowing perfectly well that Lucifer will fall, and the woman will eat the fruit, and the man can't think with his brain so will follow her. He knew that the world will convulse with untold horror, pain, and suffering. Two children in a womb, one he picks to father the chosen ones, one he likes less.

In fact, you must love your family so much less than you love God, you may have to forsake them. And if you do, you will be rewarded. Or is that hyperbole, too?
So, in general, when you have two contradicting scriptures, how do you, Prax, decide which one to call hyperbole?

Hebrews 13:23 Know ye that our brother Timothy is set at liberty
EVERYTHING in the bible is literal. When's the last time someone plucked out their eye or cut off a limb? Afterall, Jesus said to do it...
So many people are spiritual kleptomaniacs. They cannot help but take everything literally.
