Remember These Beauties?

From 1961 through 1967 Ford produced and sold the Econoline Pickup.

I have recently fallen in love with this design. My birthday is coming up, so in case you were wondering what I wanted...

Oh, the Dodge A-100 Pickup would be even better as they are more rare! Here's one on Ebay even as we speak.

Wax nostalgic and post pics and stories of your favorite old car/truck. Or you have to buy me the truck.

Re: Remember These Beauties?

I agree that design is awesome and timeless. It looks very modern even today.

Months ago I ran across one of these parked at a convenience store. I hung around a few minutes hoping the owner would come out so I could talk to him but he never did.

I would love one with a modern enginer, transmission, brakes, A/C, etc put in it.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

There are still many of them out there. My brother-in-law has a mid 70's El Camino, but he hasn't started it yet. Being a Ford guy, I'd like the Ranchero; '64 or '65 would be just about right.

Oh, Timmy! Was that a Chevy? What you did to it is astounding, but can you fill us in on on how you got there? Maybe a few progression shots. You are the Man, Baby!!
