-10 prediction for tonight. Still only about 7" snow here. Seems like we were, as usual, right on the outer edge of the storm.

I hate to see that temp so low. I am praying for everyone. Some are telling me Michigan area is to be hard hit tonight with an ice storm. Hang in there....Summer is coming!
It is 14 degrees here in the Dallas area, it snowed most of the day, very lightly, we have maybe a half inch. But everything is closed because we have also have a half inch of ice.
Fortunately, it came as sleet, so it is not ruining the trees. Low of 13, for tonight.
Very nice day all warm and snuggled up, beat my wife in a big game of chicken foot, now she's not interested in playing. LOL. She usually wipes me out, maybe speed Scrabble tomorrow, since every thing is closed again.
It seems that Dallas has had a lot more snow/ice lately. My ex and family is from there, and I don't ever remember their winters being as harsh as lately.
Our local news station is in Dallas for the Super Bowl...we are hosting it next year, so there are groups of people from Indy down there observing. The newscaster has been reporting your weather and mentioned the troubles they are having on the roads. He said one of the problems clearing your roads is the road crews were using 90% sand to 10% salt mixture, and didn't start coating the roads until after the ice had started to come down. Our crews start coating the roads with salt hours before it starts and continue thru the storm. On a good note, you all will be at 60 degrees this weekend, and we will still be freezing and coated in ice.
Indy was lucky, we have about 5 inches of sleet...and then about an inch or so of ice. They are glad that it was mostly sleet as the it saved us from losing more power. I have friends without power today, but it is not as wide spread as they first thought it would be.. for that I am thankful.
So I'm shoveling a path to the wood shed. There's someone with a front end loader/backhoe clearing out my nieghbors driveways. Just looking at my long driveway causes deep groanings. I'm out in the country where the wind whips unimpeded. Five foot drifts, 3 times higher than my snowblower. Someone walks up behind me as I'm shoveling. It's him! The operator of that wonderful machine. He says, "would you like me to clear some of that snow out of your driveway." "Oh sure", inside I'm going, YES, YES, YES!!! When he's done I offer to pay him something but he refuses! I don't even know who he is. Come to find out later from my neighbor that he's the owner from the mink ranch a 1/4 mile down the road and he does this for the near neighbors whenever there is a BIG snow storm. I never had to start the snowblower.

You are correct, I believe we have had a record ice and snow this winter, I do hope everything thaws out before the weekend, but it has been a nice break.

I was at Walmart last night and they were displaying their finest equipment to combat the snow... shovels, gloves and this tiny wheel driven, non-motorized snow blower! Funny! that thing might work in 2" but not in 2'!

Here is the view I get with my morning coffee outside my office window. Drifts around 3-4 feet deep with a coating of ice. It is nice having a room with a view, unlike the other cubicle slaves....
