I hate to say it, but this just goes to show that Bro E does not stop and read or think critically. He just assumed this other person was saying Jesus is a magic name...insinuated that person was reprobate and then threatened to take his toys and go home....that's sad imo

Jesus is from the Latin Iesus which is from the Greek Iesous...those are not translations but transliterations. The Entire NT bible is translated from greek, not Aramaic or Hebrew.
Just an observation ... many of these extreme individuals who teach these type of ideas as a "revelation" often take satisfaction in being more spiritual than the rest of the body.

In NY, we had a young man who was spreading this "Yeshua" business in the church ... it was also usually accompanied with sharp criticisms of everyone and condemnation.

I remember, here in Houston there were a group of ultraconservative churches headed by some extreme pastors who were killing the rest of the Spanish-speaking fellowship for using the word "Cristo" or Christ.

They believed that those who used the term was were unholy being that Jesus is his name after the resurrection and that the Christ died at Calvary.

It was their new "revelation" that brought huge division and problems to the Spanish work especially here in the Houston area.

Ironically, some of these ministers leading "the revelation" were dealing with other immoral issues.

Thank You Prax. You have stated exactly what I poorly stated.

The anti-Cristo churches here in Houston also "sanitized" all "trinitarian" songs that contained the word "Cristo" into "Jesus" .... they were so proud of this ... it was so silly and weird... to hear time-honored songs changed in this manner that it I used to irk me

OK..I'm not serious here....and i don't think God is that "serious" either, that He would disqualify your baptism on a technicallity.

I think this borders on being a reprobate if that is your feeling my discussion with you on any subject is over.
Here are the 2 posts in question.

After reading it again, I can see a little clearer what Freeatlast was saying. But I cannot fault Bro Epleys post that came right after his, because I have had to read it a second time to "get it".

Also, if you read Bro Epleys post, you will also see that he is asking Free if this is what he means, not declaring that he means it. He then gives his opinion that he see's it as bordering on being a reprobate, not that he is one. He then states that if this is the case, he will not discuss anything further with Free.

Prax, if Elder Epley wants to call me a reprobate for having a disscussion about opposing views.....well then a reprobate I am. No sense arguing with the man. I can wait till we get to the throne...then I'll let Jesus sort it out.

Yes, I said JESUS ! the name above all names that we english speaking folks call him.

You know people just get stranger and stranger when they try to get sooooooooooo super spiritual. I was at Jackson Music Conference when Kieth Clark's then wife - (Juanita I think was her name) announced that We are going to only sing SONGS written by Apostolics and we will have the only Real Apostolic Orchestra in Pentecost! Good Grief I said! Well - she had run off with someone else by the next music conference - still APOSTOLIC but with another husband! CRAZY STUFF!

Actually, I think he bumped it for me to show that you were not meaning what Bro Epley questioned you to believe.
