They are temporary sources of pleasure for humans and have no eternal value.
From my understanding Jermyn, a soul is different than a spirit. A spirit is the equivelent of God's breath taken from the Greek word "pnuema" meaning ; lung-wind, breath (as in breath of life), and SPIRIT. from this understanding it would be impossible for animals to live without God's breath.

All of Gods creations that he breathes into will live forever. As far as baptizing a cat or any animal, why skould they? Man was the one who sinned and need salvation. Our poor creatures got caught up in our fowl up.

See and compare Genesis 6:17. The "breath of life..." was in the animals as well.
Not the same thing
NET bible
55 tn The Hebrew construction here is different from the previous two; here it is חַיִּים רוּחַ (rûaḥ ḥayyim) rather than חַיָּה נֶפֶשׁ (nep̄eš ḥayyāh) or חַיִּים נִשְׁמַת (nišmat̲ ḥayyim). It refers to everything that breathes.

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
Every sinner must repent of their sins.
That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.
I couldn't care less if I ever see my former pets (whom I cared for dearly btw) again...
I do care that one day I'll see my grandfather and some other loved ones who've gone on before me.
I stopped worrying about whether my pets went to heaven when they died when I grew past my childhood. I realized how trivial that was.
Jesus didn't die for Cuddles the cat, He died for Mrs. LPW and all the rest of mankind.
Jesus didn't go to prepare a place for Cuddles, He went to prepare a place for me.
Now, I have a loved one who thinks her dead pets are up in heaven with Grampy waiting for her. And I'd never tell her I thought she needed a head check...
But... I don't know any of you and you're not my cousins....
SO....
Since God cares about the sparrows and He also cares about anything and everything that we care about, I somehow believe God understands those that care about their pets and hope to see them again in heaven.
I don't know if pets go to heaven or not but I sure wouldn't mind seeing mine again. Right after seeing my grandparents and other loved ones of course.
I've had so many pets over the years that I'll need my own 40 acres to hold them all but that would be OK too.
