I know. My last pair of shoes I bought to wear in the garden I got in the Children's section at Walmart. Size 3! Oh dear! But good news they were only $5.00!

My conviction is against spending the money on it, not how it appears to people.

It is just my personal conviction, and I think that there are situations where it becomes wrong. IMO
Thanks for your response, I appreciate it.

Funny story, when I was a very small boy, probably around 6-7, I was jealous because the other kids would come into school talking about shows they'd watched on TV the night before.

Well, one day my mother entered a drawing at the local grocery store (free, of course), hoping to win some free groceries.

Well, her number was picked, but she didn't win the groceries, instead we won a small television!!!!!!

Of course, she declined it, and I cried over the whole ordeal, and I asked my mother, "Mom, is it still a sin if we didn't BUY the TV?"

Case in point: Tennis shoes. They're a semi-annual purchase around here, for the kids. IF we buy good quality, that is. Buy a pair from Target, and they'll probably be in the trash can in 2 months.
I agree.

In fact, I don't know if it is true or not, but everytime I buy a new cpair of Runners I usually get Nike's when they are on sale.

Most pairs last me about 5 years.

I don't for the kids though, not while they are growing.

They either don't last long as they tear them up or they outgrow them.

Hilarious!!!

Well, if you are going by the logic of what people think I am saying versus what I am actually attempting to say (badly apparently) it should have been just fine!

I agree that modest living is a good thing. I just don't think that living cheaply is the equivalent of modesty. Nor is it handling money wisely, IMO.
Well, I would be the better steward because I would find a sale and buy five $200 dresses on sale for $50 each!!!!!

I'm all for quality and sales!!!

Me, too. But normally you get what you pay for.
