The point that seems to missed here is that it is not the vehicle itself, it is the money spent. I don't really care what people think, I care about whether I am following my conscience.
I frequently shop at Goodwill, and I frequently find clothes that originally cost much more than I would ever spend on clothes. I wear them with no shame, because I know I didn't violate my conscience in buying them.
