I think it is waste of money that could be put to better use in the kingdom. That is just me. But, being in a situation of beggars can't be choosers, I do drive one. These are just my personal feelings, I feel as Christians we have let ourselves get too caught up with the trappings of our society, and too over-laden with "stuff". I don't think that everyone is obliged to follow my convictions, and I try not to be too judgmental about it.
Well, I think we should be minimal in things we purchase, and not go about just collecting massive amounts of things, but at the same time, I think using your money wisely includes buying good quality. I might pay $200 for a dress that will last for 5 years, while another woman may pay $50 for 5 dresses that last less than 1 or 2. Now, who is the better steward? *shrug*

I agree that modest living is a good thing. I just don't think that living cheaply is the equivalent of modesty. Nor is it handling money wisely, IMO.
