So considering 1 John 3:2, it says we are sons of God right now. In other words, we don't have to die to know that we are God's children. Do you think God would send his children who have born of Him to hell?

LOL nice context and understanding all te underlying principles.
We are children to WHOM we obey. If we go after flesh we are not children of God. Unless we repent we will die in our sins. I can consider myself a child of God IF I am doing his will and commandments just as Jesus said concerning us being his friends. IF we obey we are his friends.

You also said "no human knows". How did Paul know that a crown was waiting for him if he couldn't even know whether he was perfect enough to make it to heaven?

LOL... He is viewing himself HAVING KEPT to receive. Thus he believes he will receive. He will be judged by God to have been faithful to the end or not. He has belief he will. As we all shoud have expectancy having been what WE PERCIEVE as being faithful. He still wil be judged.
1Jn 3:18 Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.
1Jn 3:19 By this we shall know that we are of the truth and
reassure our heart before him;
1Jn 3:20 for whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and
he knows everything.
1Jn 3:21 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us,
we have confidence before God;
1Jn 3:22 and whatever we ask we receive from him
, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him.
