Our gospel is not acts 2:38, that is our response to the gospel. When did acts 2:38 become the gospel?
Peter preached the gospel in Acts 2 and then in Acts 2:37 the men asked him what shall they do and he told them.

How would you "obey" the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ?
If we are being instructed to "obey the gospel", what are these verses instructing us to do?
"In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and
that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:" II Thessalonians
"But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?"
Romans 10:16
"For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us,
what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?"
I Peter 4:17
