Peculiar people? Indeed some of them are!
When I had my spiritual change through the power of the Holy Spirit I didn't need anyone telling me to be separate from the world, I wanted too.
And in that day there was a culture too. Long hair, ear rings, beards, bell bottom pants, flowered shirts, stacked heels with patten leather. I had one of the most beautiful pairs of white patten leather shoes in that time that you could buy. Some how every time I put them on and went to church something deep inside of me moved and I didn't feel at ease with them. When I threw them away and a lot of other worldly stuff, I felt clean and free of that world that tried to destroy me in the first place.

Why would you dress differently to go to church? I don't find instructions or examples in the NT that believers were supposed to wear anything different than their every day clothing. Also, where does the "worldly clothing" thing come in? Did Christians have different clothing after Jesus died?
