A larger percentage is learned behaviour, IMO. I wouldn't let my son carry on that way and give him his special pulpit. It's like a god. We all pull ourselves up by our boot straps the same way. This boy isn't going to come around any other way than anyone else has. It's sackcloth and ashes and not the glory road.

To me it embodies the performance nature of Pentecostalism. Many of these things called "moves of God" are nothing more than learned behaviors when the preacher says it a certain way, or the music plays a certain style or people get together the "have church". The Youtube video has adults cheering and shouting in a playful manner encouraging the little boy (then 21 months) going "ya-ya-ya-ya" in a micorphone saying absolutely nothing. You think a toddler isn't going to eat up a crowd cheering him and giving him affirmation for his performance? It does not encourage faith, trust or knowing Jesus. All it does is send the message to kids that performance equals a relationship with God. And for many that is all they have as they grow up: a series of emotional experiences from Sunday to Sunday, youth service to youth service, youth camp to youth camp, etc. All the while not being established in the Word, discipleship, true opportunities to serve, to experience missions and living out their faith. Its all about the church service and having a move of God.

So, you don't think God would call a child to be a preacher, while he is still little? (I don't either! )

I'm not exactly saying that. The Lord knows us when we are formed in the womb. I just don't think the child is old enough to understand the responsibility. And I suppose I am judging his parents motives here and I probably shouldn't be doing that either.

Based on how the church crowd is reacting to him I am pretty sure the parents have been/being to led to believe he is a child preaching prodigy.

Well, if he has set a pattern for mimicing his father it probably is something I would hesitate to stop. I wouldn't want to discourage him or make him think there is something wrong with that, but I would try to be wise and not let him take it too far. You would have to take each antic one at a time. Building him a pulpit is taking it too far, for me. But, like I said, I am judging their motives and I probably shouldn't. I'm not there, don't know what anyone is feeling being present.

Wonder why they feel he should be more special than John the Baptist, and even Jesus...who was called to preach the gospel..adults..not children...ordained by God.
