Re: Thoughts On The Paranormal
I was talking to a friend of mine and the topic of the paranormal and ghosts came up. He shared his opinion with me and I found it interesting. So I thought I'd revive this conversation. He explained that man is a trichotomy (body, soul, and spirit). He essentially explained that when one dies their body is burried in the ground and physical consciousness ends. The soul is the seat of personality and emotions, and proceeds into the afterlife. The spirits of the unsaved are essentially natural life-forces that might continue linger on the earthly plane in a given location or around the body until they dissipate... or are removed. He explained that when one encounters a ghost, they are encountering the disembodied "spirit" or "life-force" of a person.
What intrigued me is the complexity of his opinion. Categorically, a person can exist in three distinct places at once. The body can physically reside in the grave. The soul can consciously exist in the afterlife. The spirit can linger on the earthly plane.
Thoughts???
