Re: Is there anyone who is Apostolic anymore?
Here's the piece I think a lot of us are missing.
We need to find a Man of God that we want to be obedient to.
I see where contention comes in. If I spent my entire Christian walk running into Churches and Pastors and forcing myself to submit, one day I'll break away. This has to be done because your heart is stirred to submit.
When I see my Pastor preaching, when I see his heart for people, when I see how Christ like he really is, my heart is stirred. I say to myself, "I want to follow that man. I want to have a hold of what he has a hold of."
My pastor is nearly 76 years old. Pastor A. Vince Kelley. Some of you old timers might have heard of him. Has traveled the world numerous times. He took 16mm film to parts of the world you only read about in books and made documentary films about the missionaries there. This man never took a tithe or money from the Church he pastored until his retirement. He started the church from the ground up over 35 years ago.
I could go on and on. But simply. I love my pastor with all my heart. I really do. Makes me emotional when I talk about him because of the impact he has had on my life.
If some of you had known where I was at when I came to God, you might understand the deep impact this man has had on my life. He's taught me how to pray. How to get a hold of God. He's taught me what it means to be a man.
I was so broken, and God is still putting me back together. I'm so glad I have a pastor that loves me.
I'm motivated to obey out of love.
God is amazing.
