To answer your question, yes, I do.
But there are certain conditions.
A nation can not live a life like hell
and expect God's will to be done!

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

2.Pray
3.Seek my Face

You believe Jesus, don't you?
The blood of Jesus still works. Sin entered this world, this world is wicked and will feel its effects. However the name of the Lord is a strong tower and those that are righteous and run to him will be saved.

Re: School Shooting in CT

Timmy, to clarify my statement earlier... (sorry, it's been a busy weekend, and I just have a few minutes to respond).... about prayer in the schools...

Prayer can go up anywhere, in an instant, in a heartbeat, in any situation you can imagine, because we don't have to bend a knee or be in a certain position to pray to our God.

So, yes, of course there is prayer in our schools. If anyone anywhere wants to pray, they can.

My point was, that prayer was OUTLAWED in the schools I think in the 80s... correct me if I'm wrong....

When I was in grade school, the Lord's prayer was said over the announcements every day. We understood the basic ten commandments, of which our very society is founded upon. They were taught to us in grade school.

So, tell me this... when did we start to see school shootings?

Was it before we took God and prayer out of the schools... or after?

Of course, the answer is that we began to see these horrible events begin to take place AFTER prayer, and the ten commandments, and any mention of God in our curriculum had been effectively removed from our schools.

I don't think that this is a coincidence... just my opinion of course....

What you are really saying is you don't believe what Jesus said. I don't, either. It is NOT TRUE that anything you ask in his name will be done. Period. You know it. Everyone here knows it. You just won't say it.

The only condition Jesus gave in the scripture I quoted was to ask in his name. And he said it would be done. He also said why it would be done: so that his father would be glorified.

Nice.

Thanks. But you used that terminology again: "we took God and prayer out of the schools". No, we didn't.

I think the issue is that too many parents aren't truly parenting their children... and as a result... they are growing up into monsters.

The problem is, the law can do three things. It can deter with severe punishments. Of course, we already have lots of deterrents against murder. They can impede the access to public spaces or to weapons. Or, third, the law can monitor and, in some cases, confine people who meet the profile of these people.

The problem with this is, these people are determined, psychotic, and often suicidal. It's very difficult to deter someone like that or impede. And then when you come to the question of monitoring or confining, you look at the profile. These are often men, young men, young, unmarried men, young men who are socially awkward, and sometimes young, unmarried, socially awkward men who have been diagnosed or even prescribed some kind of psychotropic medicine. The civil liberties and privacy issues involved in trying to monitor people in this not insignificant cohort who fit that profile are insuperable."

PO, I used to be one who was hard against guns. As recently as 4 days ago, my mindset was this...if they have to go door to door...get the guns.

But last night I heard something that I may have heard before, but it suddenly resonated in my inner beings...

Pierre Thomas was speaking to David Muir on ABC News...he was detailing the amount of weapons already on the streets, and he said something to this effect...if guns were outlawed today, it would not make a difference, simply because there are too many guns out there.

So we are left with this...there is no way to ever collect every hand gun or high powered weapon. So let's focus on the main issue...the increased violent behavior of Americans.

Just my opinion...

So, then if "we" didn't take prayer out of the schools, who, or what did?

Because the Lord's prayer is not said anymore during announcements.

Teachers are not allowed to publicly pray with their children, or even teach the basic ten commandments to the children.

Timmy, do you think there could be a "coincidence" here, or more than a coincidence that these terrible mass school shootings started AFTER God and prayer were legislated out of the schools?
