We have a friend who recently bought a large amount of wheat, and a wheat grinder, because the Lord impressed him to do it.
So, who knows what lies ahead, although we do know that the financial situation of our country is in a shambles, and it would behoove us all to at least have several weeks worth of food in case of a national emergency of any kind.

Depending on where in the country you live, just having a couple of WEEKS of food puts you ahead of over 90% of the local population. Right now we have about three months of freeze dried stuff in what we call our "survival closest". I am really trying to get into container gardening to having fresh stuff by the time our stored food is running out but the problem here in the desert is water so we have to jump through all sorts of hoops to get a rain water catching system installed as well. . . . .
Of course besides food I am also stock piling things like ammo (and guns), rechargeable batteries and a couple of solar panels capable of charging them, several walkie talkies as well as a small HAM radio, and MANY ways of starting fires.
