Here's what I mean! Modern day church, I"m sure yours too, preaches "God will bless you," but you first must give yout tithe. Also, I've heard it preached, "tithe or God will curse you!" You know as well as I, That's the message preached behind pulpits.
Who is wrong, Jacob or modern day preaches? They both practiced the complete opposite in regard to tithing. Did Jacob bully God into blessing him first, before Jacob gave tithes, assuming you first must give tithes to be blessed, as modern day preachers teach?
Genesis 28:22-22 reads:
20) Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “
if God will be with me
and will watch over me on this journey I am taking
and will give me food to eat and clothes to wear
21) so that I return safely to my father’s household,
then the LORD will be my God
22) and this stone that I have set up as a pillar will be God’s house,
and of all that you give me I will give you a tenth.”
I'll tithe only if you bless me, that was Jacob's example!
