Scotty, the church I grew up in was that way for most of my life. Things have really changed over the last 20 years though, thank God.
It is hard to overcome culture and the culture of the South has been very much opposed to mixed race marriage.
I am glad to see that this is changing in profound ways. My home church is no longer like that.
The church I attend certainly is NOT racist. we are such a mixed lot it blows my mind every sunday. I like to say we look like what Heaven will look like.
