In other words, science and both the literal and day-age interpretations of genesis 1 are actually opposed. You cannot believe either of those interpretations of genesis 1 and current science both. So please, take your pick. Anything at all please? (By the way saying my evidence for the sun being older than the earth has problems is not the same as providing evidence that the earth is older than the sun).

One solution that has been offered: God made the universe look older than it is. Fossils created in place. Light created en route from where the stars are (or seem to be) to earth. Stalactites and stalagmites... you get the idea. And the reason God did all that? So we would "have to" believe in him and in the Bible purely on faith.
