Sure, if someone is doing their best to show love even though they don't have a matching emotion, I wouldn't call that fake at all. I don't believe that emotions or feelings are required in order to make something real; in fact, I believe emotions are often irrational and misleading, and therefore unreliable.

I don't know if unbelievers can have agape love. Other types of love are still real--and I suppose they can also be fake.
