I believe the number one misquoted verse in Pentecost is
Acts 2:38 which says'
"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
However, I have heard it quoted all to many times like this.
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost,
with the evidence of speaking in other tongues".
I guess those who quote it this way does not feel as though Peter said it right.
