What do you do on Mother's Day or Father's Day?

I know Christmas isn't an issue in the WD!!

I'm for reaching Nascar people, biker people , and any other group but not to have a service just for them . we should all come togehter.

i also feel that sports has become the god of america, something we worship too much. and then to center a service around it --too much

I am so thankful for the day and time that we live in. Our children have changed the 'face' of Apostolicism. Now, when you walk into an Apostolic church- you see diversity, and you really cannot tell, outwardly, who is saint, and who is sinner. THANK GOD.

Nowadays, if you walk into a church where all look 'the part'- then you have undoubtably walked into a church that needs a revival of souls!!!!

JMHO
I attend a church that runs over 600 steady. Our church is growing and has seen a 25% increase over last year. We all look "HOLY" and we ARE having Revival!

People who come and find the true delivering power of God DO change and DO lose their desire to look and be like the world.

To say that a church where all the people look the same needs revival is a bit over the top and untrue.

Our church has been in revival for months and we all look the same!!! A testament that sinners and backsliders do find God in revival and do conform as a result of that change.

They are trying to convert with a 'social' gospel instead of transform with a 'moral' gospel. And, yes, it is sad.

Reaching the lost is a mandate. We have to do it or we're in trouble on Judgment Day. I've not a singe problem with reaching the lost but somewhere there has to be an encounter with a transforming Almighty.

This is why the other post about 'can't tell Saint from sinner' drew quick fire (although it was later explained). I have MANY who look like rank sinners because they have only been in the Church a few weeks. However, the mature Church looks like the Church... no mistaking that!

I'm all for gimmicks (without lying or going against what I've agreed to by being a part of a certain organization) and I utilize lots of things. I wouldn't be against Biker Sunday / Friend Sunday / Special Days... (Okay, admittedly no Super Bowl will ever be seen in my sanctuary!) but the bottom line is that Pentcost better never make the mistake of the false doctrine Churches that think a 'social' gospel will glean the same results as a 'moral' gospel.

Exactly! You shouldn't baptize someone on Sunday and by your midweek service expect them to "look the part".

I think watching a football game in the church is crossing the line. I even think cancelling church service for the event is going too far.

We do sign an agreement with the UPCI that states that we will abide by the guidelines in the AOF. One of which is that there will be no TV advertising (at this time). IMHO when you break that agreement you are lying, pure and simple. Revelation 21:8.

I know certain ones who will say yahoooo....to those who lie, I for one do not.

When and if it is changed in the AOF - then I will say to that pastor, I am all for it, but till then, there is nothing in the Bible about advertising on TV, but there is something in the Bible about lying. Pure and simple.

I have no problem with the ad, I have a problem with the lie.
