I am aware that it's part of the mainstream teaching, as I was raised in the UPC. I don't believe my pastor sees me as lost for cutting my hair. I've never felt that from him at all.
I don't see any Biblical teaching against women cutting their hair, therefore, I am able to make my own decision concerning what's on my body. I used to believe and 'preach' the doctrine, and did so even on the internet for a couple years until someone challenged me to actually read what I was quoting....come to find out, nothing I was saying was in the Bible as I claimed.
I had to do a lot of soul searching at that point, and also did a lot of studying. Around this time, I was introduced to the GNC and learned a lot there. I soon became a member of FCF and learned even more. I continue to learn, but so far, the teaching I was raised with concerning hair have I ever found anywhere in the Bible, even though my pastor said it was there. I found out a lot of things he claimed were in there really aren't.

Let's just set the hair Issue a side for just a second-Don't you think that somethings we have to do out of obedience even if we don't understand it ? God told noah to build an ark. I'm sure noah wasn't given every detail and all the reasons but he did it out of obedience. same thing with Abraham when he took his son to be sacrificed. I believe we are called to trust and obey. we may not always understand all the "Whys" however we often come to an understanding years later. I remember growing up and asking my dad WHY WHY WHY to everything!! it use to drive him nuts ! many things I thought I was smarter and wiser. now of course , as a grown man i see HE was right
even though he sometime told to Shut up and just DO IT ! lol
Does your pastor have to come right out and tell you personally not to do it even though you said your pastor said it was in the word ? Do you have more trust in your private interputations and internet friends then the spiritual leader that is over you ???
how did you come to the conclusion that Cutting your hair was alright after believing for so long that it was wrong? If it's okay for a woman to have short hair then I assume that is okay for a Man to have long hair No? the bible says it's a shame for a man to have long hair and that the woman's hair is her glory. so if he created male and female it's obvious that he has distinguished a difference don't you think?
look at the recent incident with Britney spears. even the world Knew that it was not natural for her to shave her hair off. now I'm not saying that is what you and other women do but you do not believe it is against God. I believe it's also against nature
