Note her part about accepting assistance. Without that, there is absolutely no way I could go to school. If it's out there, I'm taking full advantage of it right now.
I do take full Pell grants, full work study grants, full Perkin's loans, full subsidized (federally, no interest until I graduate, that sort of thing) loans and unsubsidized (no payments, but interest starts accruing immediately..ugh) loans. And, any other grant or scholarship anyone wants to send my way. (and work 2 jobs, plus parent 4 kids, and I'm also doing another Bible study course in my spare time...)
And, I dunno that I'm doing so well. I'm giving very serious though to quitting. I can't keep this up for years and years, and it will take that long to get a degree. I'm working very hard right now to make some plans, figure out how I can get a degree and not miss an entire span of my life, and my kids' lives, in the process. Life is far too precious for me to spend it exhausted and burned out.
