Acts 19:14 -16
14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.
15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?
16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

Good to know you are so spiritually superior, as all pharisees are.

See? This is what it always comes to. Something is wrong with my faith because I would not sit there and let someone hurt my family without doing everything in my power to stop them. It's because of my faith that I feel the way I do. It's because I take the responsibility that God gave me when He chose to give me a family seriously that I feel the way I do. It's not a lack of faith that motivates me, it is because of my faith. Fear has nothing to do with it.

Actually, I think every individual has to determine where they stand. I personally, though I was in the service when I was younger, could not take up arms now, as I could not take a life of another. I do not believe a Christian can do so and stay a Christian .

Right, if I was to do so now, it would probably be as a chaplain or medic!

This is insulting. I am getting sick of you suggesting we don't have the Holy Ghost.

Re: It's Either You or Me
Peace brothers. Let's be kind even if we disagree. I have learned there are very, very few who agree in every issue.
It is not surprising that the literal teachings of Jesus come across as HARD sayings. It is radical stuff and goes way beyond fairness, honesty, and even rightousness. Why on earth would we/should we do good to them that despitefully use us? Why deliver good for evil done to us? Love your enemies? Treason!
Don't be surprised if these teachings sound bizarre and beyond human ability to fulfil. That may very well be the core lesson to be learned. The love of Christ is an uncommon love!
Let us all be mindful of the debt that paid for us... how He gave unmerited favor and gladly shed his royal blood while our rightousness was as dung...
