just because I defend my family doesnt mean that I HATE the person trying to harm them.when a cop responds to a crime and has to shoot someone he is just RESPONDING to a threat....its not a "Im blowing u away because I dont love u" thing.

Now here is something to ponder, if I am in my "flesh" there are some I would help cross to the other side saved or not.

God doesn't allow me that luxury though!

You bring about a good point. Those against protecting their families bring up the 'love and hate' issue in regard to our enemies, but misunderstand that protecting oneself or their families has nothing to do with love and hate against the intruder.

Why did Jesus allow Peter to carry a sword? In addition, why did He tell people that if they didn't have a sword to sell their cloak and buy one? To clean their fish?
