No. He does not currently fit our qualifications. The Bible is clear about not laying hands on anyone too quickly. That is referring to granting them leadership or laying on of hands for commissioning or ordination etc. Simply, we are to know those who labor among us. This has nothing to do with legalism but is simply following clear biblical guidelines. It is not fair to put people into leadership positions when they have not been properly trained to handle these leadership situations.

Timmy is a great guy and if he would demonstrate leadership qualities and has a life which glorifies the Lord, he would then be considered for leadership.

That is how we roll! Others may do it differently and that is their prerogative.

And I should have been more clear when I started this thread. Our board would not be considered a "Leadership" board, but more of an "advisory" board, similar to how we would use a lawyer. Actually, I ended up saying that eventually in this thread, but I wanted to clarify it again.
