I think he means that when humans glorify self rather than God, their image will be perverted, in that it will no longer reflect His image(e.g., godliness), but their own philosophies and attitudes (worldliness). Creature vs. Creator worship, maybe?
In that sense, I agree. IF that's what he means. The statement is rather ambiguous.
