I meant to come back and respond to this as the topic of the thread is about movies and how they possibly effect us or stimulate us.
I believe that
Anne of Green Gables, much like
Miss Potter, don't make us feel bad about the kissing scenes because the movies are not written with a sexual or even a sensual undertone. They present a wholesome and natural attachment.
A movie like
Zorro with Catherine Zeta Jones and Antonio Banderas was, intentionally,
written with a sexual undertone. This is the type of movie that we try to avoid watching or owning.
