On another thread someone put something about wedding bands and it got me thinking. I have been in and around many churches both liberal and conservative. Brothert Verbal Bean taught on wedding rings often. He has some very interesting information on the history of such. I find the practice of wearing a wedding ring validated no where in the scripture. And of course we see jewelry spoke against several times in the epistles. A wedding band is no different in my opinion...it's jewelry. And i find no teaching of "functional" or "ornamental jewelry" in the scripture. I don't judge others for wearing one but i do not believe it is ok and when/if i am married i will not wear one.
