Guarding this Ordained Creation of God is vital to the future of our Planet, as judgment began with the Family and will end with the Family. Put it this way Aquila, when push comes to shove, ALL of us turn to our Families when nothing is left, IF they are healthy and strong.
I also believe that the gauge of any Society comes from the Family. If the Family is strong and morally protected, the remainder of the population will reap the reward of stability and direction. What God did in the Beginning, building the Family unit, this precious bond of Man/Wife/Children must remain the top priority of any Civilization.

Where have you been bro? The family is largely in shambles already. I wouldn't doubt that the break down in the family is partially to blame for all the gender role confusion. Gays aren't a threat to the family, many loving families have gay members. And yes, gay people have families and love them dearly. My uncle is gay and he's a great guy. One of the most honest men I know. However, he does need Jesus. The issue as I see it is that families have lost their foundation.... Jesus. For most Americans, the Christian faith is something practiced at church. Things are so crazy and time is so limited many families opt out of going to church regularly. So... what little "Christianity" they'd get in church isn't there. We need to bring faith and practice back into the homes.

Also, your desire for Freedom is not entirely Biblical. In fact, Scripture leans to a more Socialistic Society.

Who put the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in Adam and Eve's back yard and gave them a choice?
We all make choices in life. This is a free country. I can buy adult entertainment, drink until sun up on the weekends, watch violent movies, read the Satanic bible, join a space alien worshipping cult, live with a woman, live with a man, live by myself, get married, stay single, be Christian, be Buddhist, be Muslim, be Hindu, be an atheist, or whatever else I choose to be or feel led to be. This is freedom. It's ugly sometimes. It's messy. It requires maturity and tolerance. It calls for patience. It calls for introspection. And when I was in the military I thought about all the crazy sinful things in our society that men and women are free to do... and I realized... freedom is holy... even when people choose to do the wrong things. And I realized that freedom is something worth dying for.
We really have a noisey bunch of liberal winers and a noisey bunch of angry conservatives whipping us all up into a frenzy to get our votes. That's all it's about. None of this is real serious persecution.
I vote that government needs to get out of the marriage business altogether and allow churches, families, and private institutions to define marriage for themselves.
