Did you read the portion I quoted from Boyd's book 'God at War'? There are many scriptures cited in that long quote that would answer your question.
I could cite the specific places and go through each one of them but I don't have the time. That's why I gave you a book reference that you could look at and perhaps take a look at the entire book itself. I don't agree with everything Boyd teaches. His eschatology may even be akin to yours (which I don't agree with but dislike discussing eschatology). But I know what he teaches on this subject and I agree with him. And I know he can present it better than I could, especially if you like diving into the Greek.
What does Paul have to clarify when he is talking about entities that are not "flesh and blood". Paul cast out demons from people as did the rest of the apostles. It was a daily occurrence when Jesus walked on the earth. The people of that day understood there were unseen spirits, good and evil at play in the world.
Context is key whether the writer is referring to earthly rulers and governments or spiritual rulers.
